Lacey Echalier, MD
Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Dr. Lacey Echalier is a board certified, fellowship trained ophthalmologist specializing in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery. In addition to a four-year internship and residency in ophthalmology, she spent an additional two years of advanced fellowship training focused exclusively on oculofacial surgery. This makes her uniquely experienced and qualified to perform the following procedures:
- Surgical correction of drooping eyelids, eyelid malposition, sagging forehead and eyebrows
- Removal of lesions around the eyes
- Reconstructive surgery following trauma or skin cancer removal
- Correction of tear duct obstructions and excessive tearing
- Orbital fracture surgery and reconstruction
- Treatment of inflammatory or infectious conditions of the orbit
- Biopsy or removal of cancer from the orbit
- Management of thyroid related orbitopathy, including orbital decompression
- Therapeutic injections for facial movement disorders
- Cosmetic surgery of the areas surrounding the eyes, eyelids, upper face, lower face and neck
- Non-surgical facial rejuvenation such as Botox, fillers and laser resurfacing
Whether your interest is cosmetic or medical, Dr. Echalier believes in taking an integrative approach to facial rejuvenation, with a team approach to patient care.
Dr. Echalier is passionate about patient access to quality care. She has participated in local and international medical outreach as well as legislative patient advocacy. During her training, she started an outreach clinic providing free ophthalmology care for underinsured patients in her community. She has travelled to Washington, DC to discuss patient care related policy issues with representatives and senators and was an active member of the Colorado Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons Board of Directors.
Dr. Echalier believes that education is a cornerstone of excellent patient care and strives to be a lifelong learner. She is actively involved in research and has published several peer review articles and book chapters. She is passionate about teaching clinical skills and surgery, and was the recipient of a Faculty Teaching Award through the University of Colorado, Department of Ophthalmology. Her passion for teaching carries over to her patient interactions, as she believes patient education is key to achieving optimal results.
In her spare time, Dr. Echalier enjoys baking, music, camping, and spending time with her husband and two children.
