Botox®

Botox® is a trade name for a refined version of the botulinum toxin type A. This toxin is only poisonous in a large dose, about 100 times what will be used by Dr. Fante, because then it paralyzes muscles. For cosmetic treatments, it’s been approved by the FDA.

Dr. Fante will inject it precisely into specific muscle areas in tiny doses. It will relax the muscle and relieve it from unconscious and unnecessary movement, thus preventing it from making wrinkles.

We tend to learn facial habits as we grow up, facial expressions that become habitual, and over the years start creating permanent lines. Botox® injections don’t totally stop all muscle movement; they just relax the muscles by blocking nerve impulses.

This gives us a refreshed look, as if we had a good night’s sleep and feel in a good mood.

Restylane

Restylane is a transparent gel containing a type of hyaluronic acid that’s very close to that found naturally in our bodies. Dr. Fante’s office offers Restylane treatments to improve wrinkles and fine lines by filling the deep layers of the skin. This treatment lasts for up to a year.
